This is my final project from my Computer animation and visualisation degree at Bournmouth university.

Completed in 2005 it's looking a little dated naturally!

Taken from the abstract of the project's accompanying report:

This report documents the planning, execution and analysis of an animation looking into Asperger’s syndrome (AS) and the way that it affects the individual’s outlook on the world. It aims to convey a sense of unease and vulnerability, drawing similarities between the viewer’s own emotions and those of an AS sufferer. Using an exciting visual style and the use of contemporary music, it will be an innovative and dynamic short film.

Original aims and objectives:

To produce a short narrative animation that puts the viewer in the position of a child with Asperger’s. We follow the boy on the London underground as he travels from Westminster station to Whitechapel.

Using purely POV shots the piece needs to convey successfully how AS sufferers experience daily life and demonstrate similarities to evoke compassion, not sympathy, for the protagonist. The piece should build on common areas of which the viewer can relate and understand.

Software used: Maya/MEL, Mo-cap suite/software, Shake, Photoshop, Premiere
