ROHNERT PARK — The Upper Lake Cougars stayed close for a half before the Technology Titans pulled away in the third quarter for a 57-37 win in North Central League II varsity boys basketball action Friday night in Rohnert Park.

“We just threw it right to them,” Upper Lake head coach Miles Hayes said of numerous turnovers that plagued the Cougars (1-3 league, 5-9 overall) throughout the game. “Lots of turnovers.”

Technology outscored Upper Lake 18-9 in the third quarter to open up 45-28 lead.

“Our defense traveled well,” Hayes said. “But we’re just not where we need to be at this point of the season. It’s my fault. I should have done a lot of things differently. The kids played hard.”

Robert Rosin’s 15 points led the Cougars. After that, the scoring fell off to six points by Connor Vogel.

Upper Lake is home Monday to play Lower Lake in a non-league game scheduled to tip off at 6:30 p.m. It’s part of a four-game set between the two schools beginning with the junior varsity girls at 2 p.m.
