Kelly Sain has been hired as the Thompson School District’s new chief technology officer.

In her new role, Sain will be in charge of developing and implementing the district’s strategic vision for technology and facilitating the integration of digital tools into the curriculum.

She currently holds the position of director of educational technology at Jeffco Public Schools in Golden and previously served as the director of educational technology and director of STEM for the Boulder Valley School District.

She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in computer education and cognitive systems from the University of North Texas.

“I am thrilled to join the innovative Thompson team,” Sain said in a written release. “In my interview, I felt collaboration, connections and positivity at all levels. The energy and focus on students was one of the reasons this opportunity spoke to me.”

She also said she looks forward to learning about the “many successes” of the district and the technology team.

“Supporting technology use with teachers and students is essential, as tech is their ‘pen and paper,’ for 2022,” she said in the written release. “I look forward to creating new relationships within the community.”
