New technology has been installed in the U.S. Senate chamber to help Pennsylvania senator and stroke survivor John Fetterman follow proceedings.According to a report in Time magazine, the sergeant at arms installed a live-captioning screen at Fetterman's desk, which will show a transcript of Senate proceedings.A second screen will be installed at the front of the chamber for Fetterman to use when he presides over sessions. Fetterman will also be able to use a wireless tablet during committee hearings. The tablet will show live-captioning, allowing him to ask questions of people testifying.In a statement to Time, Sergeant at Arms Karen Gibson said, "I am proud of the work our team has done to support Senator Fetterman and am grateful to the many Sergeant at Arms professionals who worked quickly to develop and implement these innovative solutions."
