Syracuse city schools are dealing with internet outages for the third day in a row today.

An “event” early Monday morning led to a number of issues with computer files and systems, the Syracuse City School District said in a press release.

The district’s information technology team is investigating the problem and working on restoring service with assistance from a computer security firm, officials said in the statement. Officials said the district has been working continuously to address the situation.

A city of Syracuse spokesman said the city phone system was temporarily affected by the outage on Monday and part of Tuesday. The city phone system uses servers from the school district’s network, Chief Policy Officer Greg Loh said.

“We are no longer experiencing any issues,” Loh said.

The school district’s main website remains down while IT crews work on the problem.

“We apologize for any inconvenience that this service interruption has caused you,” school district officials said in a statement.

Schools remain open, including for summer classes.

Officials said they could not say anything further at this time. They said they would update the community when more information is available.
