PHOENIX – An international company based in California is the latest addition to metro Phoenix’s growing semiconductor industry.

Yield Engineering Systems, aka YES, announced Wednesday it has leased 123,000 square feet in Chandler’s Price Corridor for a “technology center.”

YES “develops and manufactures thermal, deposition, and wet process equipment that is used in semiconductor, life sciences and display manufacturing,” according to a press release.

The company will use the facility on Germann Road near Price Road for research and development, cleanroom operations, manufacturing, customer support and office space.

The technology center will be staffed with 100 employees, mostly in technology and engineering jobs.

“Our new technology center will provide us with valuable proximity to key customers and vendors, as well as access to the highly skilled workforce that defines Chandler’s business ecosystem,” Rezwan Lateef, president of YES, said in the release.

YES has its headquarters in Fremont, California, and has operations in India, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.

The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and Intel are both in the process of building multibillion-dollar microchip production facilities in the Valley, spurring other companies in the industry to set up shop in the area.

“The Greater Phoenix semiconductor ecosystem has quickly become a top global destination for leading manufacturers like YES,” Chris Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, said in the release.

“This multimillion-dollar investment provides high-quality job opportunities for residents, and we look forward to supporting YES in its future growth and successful integration into the market.”
