Sandboxie quick malware test against zero-day virus and ransomware samples. I start by dragging over the pack of malware into Sandboxie to virtualize all access to everything in the folder. This is essentially the same as dragging over each malware 1 by 1 into Sandboxie. Notice the yellow borderline around the the window and the # sign in the window header? This effectively means that the program is running in an isolated virtual environment that Sandboxie has created for us in C:Sandbox.
I run as many samples as I can before the machine becomes unusable, notice all the activity in Killswitch. There is clearly virus activity going on in the sandbox. I run a scan with hitman pro to show you the extent of the damage running these malicious files - notice they are all in directory C:Sandbox and the malware pack folder. They have been successfully isolated away from our "real" system and are running restricted the sandbox. I terminate all programs in the Sandbox and delete the contents of it, then run another scan. Like magic everything has disappeared and our system is actually clean. This is the power of virtualization. Great job Sandboxie protecting our files.
