Despite the heavy influence of smart phones, most penetration testers only know how to pentest web applications. With the introduction of smart phones, many mobile applications use the current web application protocol such as requests and responses to transfer data over the web. With that in mind – it isn't so hard to enter the mobile pentesting realm if you are already well integrated with penetration testing on the web application platform.
