NSA holds sheep event at Ballymena Mart 01 July 2019 Free

Text to Speech

The National Sheep Association (NSA) NI region biennial sheep event took place at Ballymena Mart on Monday.

The event included trade stands, seminars delivered by speakers from industry and research organisations and a sheepdog sale held in the field beside the mart.

Awareness

Speaking at one of the seminars, NSA chief executive Phil Stocker said that the organisation aims to support UK sheep farmers and raise awareness of the sector among policy makers and the public.

The NSA has 6,500 members and is based across six regions in England, as well as Scotland, Wales and NI.

“We are a small organisation, but we do a lot of work and make a lot of noise,” Stocker said.

Full coverage of the event will feature in this week’s NI edition of the Irish Farmers Journal and at www.ifj.ie/ni.
