No need for the census, it was there all along

The decision is finally final. When your census form arrives, there will be no question asking if you are a citizen.

And I hear some of you saying “Aha! President Trump backed down.”

You know better than that. Mr. Trump never backs down. Nor does he back up. Nor does he move sideways. He only “backs” in one direction, and that is straight ahead.

“Today, I will be issuing an executive order to put this very plan into effect immediately,” Trump said Thursday.

What Sir Kim Darroch should have really said about Trump

The plan being to gather the citizenship information from records that the government already has.

“The census bureau projected that using previously available records, it can determine citizenship for 90 percent of our population or more,” he said.

So the government had this information all along and I guess no one informed the president until now. Unless we believe the Wall Street Journal which reports this is exactly what census staffers recommended over a year ago.

But then, if they’d followed the advice last year, we wouldn’t have had all that late-breaking census news.

This just in, the question is out. Wait …  a tweet just out says the question is in … wait … we just found out our computers already know who’s a citizen!

The ongoing struggle for civility on Twitter

No kidding! Between Google, Facebook, Twitter, and the NSA, they not only know your citizenship, they know your heart rate, fashion preferences and the size of your last cavity. Who needs a census at all!
