National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2016

Cybercrime is now reported to be the fourth most reported form of financial crime in South Africa. According to the South African Banking Risk Information Centre or SABRIC, South Africa loses in excess of 2-point-2 billion rand to Internet fraud and phishing attacks annually. The Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services or DTPS joins the world in recognising October as Cybersecurity month. For this campaign the DTPS has partnered with the industry for a number of events that will help raise public awareness as well as showcasing various solutions available to fight in this digital warfare. To tell us more we are joined in studio by Linda Khumalo, who is Chairperson of the Cyber Security Task Team.
