Morton Salt Switches their Cyber Security Infrastructure to Check Point

iSpeech

Unhappy with its IT security vendor, Morton Salt switched to Check Point and gained enhanced visibility , centralized management and advanced threat prevention - stopping at least 72 previously undetected events a day,

Transcript:
Morton Salt is an industrial manufacturing organization focused on food-grade, industrial, and commercial applications of salt.

The infrastructure at Morton Salt is spread out actually, across North America and South America.

Our desire is as often as possible to both try to protect ourselves from ourselves, on the internal aspects as well as ensure that perimeter and gateway edge is really secure against the outside world

We have products from the 1400 series all the way up to the 5000 series and all running R80 with the management software and SandBlast in the background of the network

Since we’ve implemented the SandBlast Network, on average we recognize roughly 72 events avoided per day. It really has been an eye-opening experience for us in the security sector, every one of them has been stopped at the edge

One of the, um… components that sets Check Point ahead and above the competition, in our opinion, it’s that centralized management approach to a decentral product platform

It allows us to use a small team to interact in a SOC-like manner without the large investment in security operations, control centers, and the resources that go behind that.

Some of the items that really stand out for us in the R80 platform is the multi administrator capabilities.

We have a small team and so sometimes it’s very important to have multiple administrators in either reviewing logs or looking at a dashboard or, maybe, actively making changes and really that’s the other component that the R80 platform brings to us is the live reporting, the logs and monitoring. Being able to quickly analyze and view threats in that dashboard setting and carry that right back into policy making or active defense.
