MdBio’s New Mobile Laboratory Virtual Walk-through

iSpeech.org

In 2017, the MdBio Foundation will introduce its next-generation mobile laboratory for Maryland. Leveraging its experience serving more than 130,000 students and teachers, and working with educational leaders, MdBio custom designed this first-of-its-kind multipurpose vehicle to expand new technology and laboratory science experiences to pique students’ interests in STEM learning and rewarding, high-paying careers within the state.

At 53-feet long, with double-expandable slide-out sides, the new mobile lab is the largest, most advanced of its kind. It will feature 1,000 square feet of interior space, enough to comfortably accommodate more than 40 students, as well as additional outside space to serve larger audiences. Inside, MdBio’s educators will engage participants in hands-on experiences that represent a variety of STEM disciplines, combining MdBio’s core bioscience and chemistry curriculum with data set modeling, virtual reality, cybersecurity and game-based learning. The dynamic mobile lab experience, which is based on proven educational theory, will offer real-time data collection, analysis and instruction using the most advanced tools available. This approach enables participants to experience learning with technologies not commonly available in schools and be exposed to practical, real-world applications in use by today’s scientific and tech communities.
