Juice Jacking: How hackers use phone chargers to steal information

The charging stations have become the latest target for hackers trying to steal your data.

"It's referred to as 'juice jacking,'" identity theft expert Carrie Kerskie said. "All a bad guy has to do is come along, take off that front plate, and they can install [a chip] on the back end and put the plate back on. You don't even know that it's happened."





Kerskie said hackers could alter the charging cables themselves and leave them for unsuspecting victims to use.
