ISACA and UK Cyber Security Council announce partnership
The UK Cyber Security Council and ISACA have announced a partnership for the Audit and Assurance programme to bridge the gap between cybersecurity and audit professionals.
With over 170,000 memembers worldwide, the ISACA is a global professional association helping individuals and organisations in the pursuit of digital trust.
Combining ISACA’s global knowledge and good practices with the local expertise of the UK market of the UK Cybersecurity council, the partnership is geared to create UK-tailed result that is aligned with global frameworks.
The Audit and Assurance shceme follows the launch of the Council’s inaugural pilots in Cyber Security Governance and Risk Management and Secure System Architecture and Design last year, with Security Testing also launching earlier this year.
Along with the pilots, the partnership is part of the Council’s overall goal to introduce a universally recognised professional standard across the cyber industry which will allow practiconers to be certified at either Associate, Principle, or Chartered level across 16 specialisms.

The team will also collaborate on a new podcast series to explore the council’s venture to standardise the cyber profession.

Now, cyberprofessionals will be provided with a certified recognition in achieving Associate, Principal or Charted status from the partnership, with their status recorded on a secure register of practitioners.
This will help to standardise the UK’s cybersecurity sector, as it has been hit by vulnerabilities and an overwhelming skills shortage.
