Week 3 of Pen Testing short course conducted by Jeremy Koster.
This week student will learn techniques and tools to match a vulnerability with an exploit. As well as execute exploitation with a number of different tools. There will be a focus on web application testing as this is where a significant amount of attacks occur.
We’ll also cover other service that are common in cyber-attacks as well as attacking wireless networks. Resources such as publicly available vulnerable images and capture the flag challenges will be covered to enable the student to explore practical applications of exploitation. Once into a system there is often a need to escalate privileges. Techniques for Windows and Unix platforms will be covered.
