Week 2 of Pen Testing short course conducted by Jeremy Koster and our guest speaker Jason Howarth.
The second week will focus on identifying targets to further investigate and locating vulnerabilities that are candidates for exploitation. Techniques for exploring the systems within the scope of the penetration test will be discussed. This is important to ensure the penetration test is extensive and valuable to the customer.
We’ll cover passive and active enumeration techniques, sniffing, vulnerability scanning and social engineering. All of these techniques are useful for a penetration test and mimic, as close as possible, a real-life hack attempt or cyber security attack.
