May 2017 saw the result of a world-wide ‘Wannacry’ ransomware attack, and the devastating effect it had on the NHS. By working with professionals, healthcare informaticians, our members and other partners including BT, the Patients Association, Barnardo’s, Microsoft, Royal College of Nursing, IBM and others, we’ve come up with the Blueprint for Cyber Security in Health and Care. The Blueprint sets out a 3-year road map which will help ensure that such an attack will never have the same impact on the NHS in the future.
