The most significant global technological event, CES, is scheduled for January 2023, and to make it more convenient for tech enthusiasts to travel to the conference, Delta Air Lines is offering additional flights from 16 US cities and three of its international hubs to Las Vegas.

Adding more than 300 flights accounts for an estimated 50% seat increase over the regular Las Vegas schedule in January. Delta Air Lines will add around 23,000 seats to and from Las Vegas from January 3rd to 4th and then January 7th to 9th, including more than 5,800 seats in the airline's four premium cabins.

Though the CES conference is only ongoing from January 5th to 8th and 9th to 12th, Delta Air Lines ensures that every attendee can catch a flight to Las Vegas. Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President for Network Planning, said:

“After two years of virtual programming, we know CES attendees look forward to connecting in person. The Delta team is excited to get them safely and reliably to and from Las Vegas safely and reliably, with the world-class service we’re known for.”

Domestically, Delta will operate additional flights to Las Vegas on inbound and outbound conference days from eight of its US hubs. The airline will also fly non-stop from locations like Austin, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Orange County, San Diego, and San Jose, cities that Delta does not otherwise serve non-stop to Las Vegas.

Bottom line

While the seat additions are primarily for the CES conference, it seems clear that the airline is quickly ramping up its winter flight schedule. The enhancements for Las Vegas come after Delta Air Lines announced the resumption of its non-stop service from Los Angeles to Haneda and after adding a second Seoul service to complement the existing daily operation. It's quite curious to see what other route enhancements the SkyTeam airline member will bring about next.
