Today the challenges that threaten the sustainability of the defense software industry are Cyber Security and austerity. If the CMMI can be adapted to respond to the challenge of Cyber Security, the senior executive would not have to split attention between each one or to choose one or the other.
To what extent can the CMMI be adapted to respond to these challenges of our time? The purpose of this research is to ask and answer the questions needed to explore the limits of the CMMI as a tool in Cyber Security and an efficient carrier for its dissemination in this period of austerity. This project is envisioned as a review of the CMMI and its effectiveness as a means to assure Cyber Security and Build Security In practices.
