Centripetal, Keysight Cybersecurity Patent Fight Gets ITC Probe

The US International Trade Commission said it has started an investigation based on Centripetal Networks Inc.’s patent infringement complaint seeking to block imports of certain Keysight Technologies Inc. cybersecurity equipment and systems.

Centripetal filed a complaint with the ITC last month, accusing Keysight of infringing three patents. The patents are similar to ones Cisco Systems Inc. was told to pay $1.9 billion for infringing.

Centripetal brought an infringement suit against Keysight in district court in 2017. The case settled with Keysight agreeing to a three-year license agreement for Centripetal’s patents, according to the ITC complaint.
