The Cayce Police Department will use new technology to help officers take proactive measures to keep the communities safe and reduce crime.
Cayce Chief of Police, Chris Cowan, announced Thursday morning that the department received several electric bikes from Jim Hudson Automotive Group to help their proactive policing efforts.
Officers will ride the electric bikes through the community and around the Riverwalk. The new bikes will also help them respond faster to incidents and make them more visible in the community.
The department also added solar-powered speed trailers to provide officers with vital traffic and speed data to help better determine what is going on in the community.
