‘Cannibal killer’ 38, accused of hacking his ex-girlfriend, 46, to death then eating her BRAIN – The Sun
A "cannibal killer" has been accused of hacking his ex-girlfriend to death before opening her skull with a jigsaw and eating her brain.
Joseph Oberhansley, 38, is alleged to have stabbed Tammy Jo Blanton, 46, to death after breaking her home.

He is reported to have cooked her brain before eating it, and also to have eaten part of her heart and lung.
Blanton was found with parts of her skull removed under a camping tent draped over her bath in September 2014.
Cops had visited her home in Jeffersonville, Indiana after she failed to show up for work.
Oberhansley, with whom Blanton had broken up a month earlier, answered the door, and was evasive when asked about Blanton's whereabouts, court records show.
Police also found a plate with "what appeared to be skull bone and blood” on it.
A skillet, a pair of tongs with blood on the handles, and tissues were found in the rubbish bin.
An autopsy found Blanton had died from multiple stab wounds and that parts of her heart, lungs, and brain were missing.
Police said Oberhansley, who now insists he is innocent, confessed to the grisly crimes after his arrest.
FACING LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE
In a tirade at a pre-trial hearing this week, he said allegations by Blanton that he had raped her the weekend before the murder were "bull-crap lies", and claimed she had been "getting high and drunk and texting a bunch of bull crap".
Ignoring his lawyers warnings that he should keep quiet, he also told the judge he had uncovered new evidence that pointed to his innocence.
He suggested detectives must not have found the true murder weapon because it could not have been the "cheap little knife" investigators found.
The judge cautioned him to save his comments for his trial.
Prosecutor Jeremy Mull said after the courtroom rant: “Well I’m certainly taking notes of everything that he’s saying.
“And if there is evidence that is contrary to the things he’s presented now, presented at trial, I’ll certainly have these things to refer to.
“He’s not going to be allowed to disrupt the trial."
Oberhansley later attempted to stage a news conference on his way out of court before being led away by sheriff deputies.
At the time of the murder, Oberhansley was free on parole for fatally gunning down his girlfriend Sabrina Elder, 17, while high on meth in 1998.
He also shot his mother in the back and fired at his sister shooting himself in the head to give himself a “partial lobotomy.”
He survived, but the bullet remained lodged in his frontal lobe.

Oberhansley was found mentally not competent to be tried in October 2017, but was later deemed fit by a judge after receiving treatment at a psychiatric hospital.
The trial is due to start on August 19. If convicted, Oberhansley faces life in jail without parole.
