The 40-year-old presenter was talking to dream expert Ian Wallace when he confessed one of his most frequent night terrors, leaving co-host Holly Willoughby in a fit of giggles.

Ben said he often dreamt he was "naked in public" and asked Ian to tell him what it meant: "The one that I have experienced on many occasions - not only just in my dreams - being naked in public."

Holly, 40, asked him what most viewers were thinking: "Not just in your dreams?" He mysteriously replied: "We won't go into that now."

Dream expert Ian revealed all: "The fourth most common dream. Your clothes are about how you present yourself. Ben, in real life there's a waking situation where you have to show up in a particular way but you want to reveal and open up deeper, show your vulnerabilty and expose yourself to people."

"It's my vulnerable side, I need to open up," Ben confirmed while Holly joked: "Because you're so vulnerable."

During the segment Holly revealed that she had lucid dreams, where she became aware that she was asleep and could get out of a nightmare. The Celebrity Juice star explained that she would tell herself: "Wake up, it's just a dream."

The psychologist also revealed that there was "no difference" between a dream and a nightmare, both were one and the same.

"There's this misconception that dreams and nightmares are a separate things. There's no such thing as a bad dream," Ian explained, before adding: "My favourite thing is working with nightmares."

He went on to explain that people "create dreams" and that we "create everything in it". While a dreamer can't control what they were experiencing, they could "make choices", such as questioning people chasing them in a nightmare.

However, viewers were less than impressed by Ian - particularly his constant references to the most common dreams. For instance the eight most common dream was being attacked by a snake, while dying in a dream was number 20, and having a celebrity in a dream was number 26.

Some people took to social media to express their annoyance and scepticism towards him.

Ryan Lafferty posted on Twitter: "It's the 93rd most common dream - This guy is about as convincing as that bloke signing Nelson Mandela's funeral. #thismorning"

Jonnie Lovepole ‏wrote: "Hopefully the dream expert on 'This Morning' can reveal what the Queen Mother playing the accordion in my bathroom means #DreamsClinic."

Hayley M. Stevens ‏tweeted: "If you dream you have werewolf arms it means you have more power than you realise" #this morning."

While Izzy Nolan said: "These dream phone ins on this morning is hilarious."
