Ask an Expert series explores cybersecurity for business

The County of Simcoe’s newest installment in the Ask an Expert virtual series will focus on cybersecurity risks for business.

The aim of the webinar will be to help business get the knowledge and information they need to ensure their organization is better protected.

A recent study shows that the cyber threats organizations face and the true impact of a cyber attack is not well understood by businesses in general.

The Ask an Expert webinar will provide detailed information on cybersecurity to help make businesses aware of what they can do to prevent an attack.

The webinar will cover such concerns as the top cybersecurity risks facing Canadian businesses and lessons from experts on how these risks can impact your organization.

It will also explain how to safeguard against security breaches and steps an organization can take to prepare your employees, protect critical information and infrastructure, and improve cybersecurity.

Information provided will explain common mistakes that Canadian business are making that leave them vulnerable to cyber-attack, and tips on how to make immediate changes that can significantly improve the security of your organization.

The session will be led by Sandy Boucher, principal – forensics advisory of the Grant Thornton Cybersecurity Practice.





Mr. Boucher is a frequent speaker on the topic across the county, and has extensive experience investigating cyber breaches.

Also joining the webinar is Thomas Turnbull, assurance services principal in Grant Thornton’s public sector and not-for-profit practice. With over 14 years experience he has led and managed clients through a variety of financial statement and compliance audits, financial statement reviews and business policy reviews.

The Ask an Expert webinar on cybersecurity will take place on Wednesday, July 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
