PhD Student Daniel Burillo presents preliminary results of his sub-contracted research for the National Science Foundation on, "Electric Grid Vulnerabilities to Rising Air Temperatures in Arizona" at the International Conference on Sustainable Design, Engineering and Construction (ICSDEC 2016).

He presents his analytical framework and method for assessing electricity infrastructure components vulnerabilities to failures due to high ambient air temperatures. Mathematical relationships in the literature for some of the components and some sample calculations are tested to estimate changes in n-1 reliability rates for systems of n components.
