wp-cerber Plugin up to 2.6 on WordPress HTTP Header X-Forwarded-For cross site scripting

A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in wp-cerber Plugin up to 2.6 on WordPress (WordPress Plugin). Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the component HTTP Header Handler. The manipulation of the argument X-Forwarded-For with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. Impacted is integrity. An attacker might be able to inject arbitrary html and script code into the web site. This would alter the appearance and would make it possible to initiate further attacks against site visitors.

The weakness was released 09/17/2019. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-10990 since 09/17/2019. The attack may be launched remotely. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.

Upgrading to version 2.7 eliminates this vulnerability.
