Henley’s 16-under-par overall score was spread out equitably over the first two rounds, with eight birdies on Thursday and eight more on Friday. He has a clean scorecard heading into the weekend after playing 36 holes with zero bogeys.
Sam Ryder and Will Gordon are tied for second place at 13-under-par overall through two rounds, with Patton Kizzire (12 under par) alone in fourth place just two strokes off the lead.
The contenders and big names in this tournament have not performed as they expected through two rounds.
Hovland is eight strokes back, same for Collin Morikawa with Scottie Scheffler a full 10 strokes back as he enters the weekend at six under par.
