Women’s Tennis falls to St. Lawrence, 7-2

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's tennis team fell to St. Lawrence, 7-2, in Liberty League action at the Gordon Field House, Friday.

In doubles play, graduate student Julia Smolowitz and senior Kirsten Auble defeated Meredith Macey and Gabriella Dadoly, 8-4, in third doubles for the Tigers' lone doubles point. Sophomore Jackie Drozd and freshman Gabby Donohue fell 8-2 to Catherine Gamble and Elena Styliades in first doubles. Sophomore Abby Murray and senior Julianne Ho lost 8-1 to Caitlyn Avery and Emily Harris in second doubles.

In singles action, Auble won over Macey, 6-1, 6-0, in the third slot. Donohue and Murray dropped a pair of 6-1 sets with Donohue losing to Avery in second singles and Murray falling to Harris in fourth singles. Drozd fell in first singles to Gamble after a pair of 6-0 setbacks. Smolowitz lost 6-1, 6-2, to Styliades in fifth singles, and Ho fell in sixth singles to Dadoly, 6-1, 6-4.

Women's Tennis next hosts Alfred University on Tuesday, April 19 at 2 p.m. in non-conference action at the Gordon Field House.
