Women’s Rowing completes season at National Invite Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. - The RIT women's rowing open four and eight boats finished the season in the National Invitational Championships in three levels of competition at Lake Quinsigamond, Sunday.

The varsity eight finished third at the fourth-level with a time of 7:19.354, besting their earlier heat time of 7:26.890 by 7.536 seconds with team members Zoe Prince, Michelle Carney, Natalie Siwek, Mikaela Simpkinson, Velvet Howland, Izzy Moyer, Nikole Russek, Margaret Carey and Eliza Papke.

The novice eight competed in the grand final with a seventh-place finish with an 8:18.236 time with boat members Cailey Shaughnessy, Hannah Boettcher, Alanna Socha, Olivia Henry, Izzy Moyer, Evelyn Andersen, Sophia Gorton, Jenna Robinson and Mia Leone.





In the women's open four race, RIT finished second in the petite final with a time of 8:32.286, which was 4.660 seconds better than its 8:36.946 heat time. Member's of the RIT open four boat included Liz Stublen, Lily Gaffney, Jenna Olivieri, Lydia Blatnik and Kaitlin Sommer.
