According to Reuters, the Trump administration wants to reduce Iranian oil exports to zero.
The decision from the White House is related to sanctions imposed on Iranian oil exports back in November.
In wake of the sanctions, Iranian exports dropped from 2.5 million to 1 million barrels per day.
The Trump administration allowed for importers to receive a waiver without violating those sanctions, which kept exports in motion.
