Troubleshooting Empty Scan Results in Nessus Professional

If a Nessus Professional vulnerability scan returns no results, there are a few likely causes. Scan results with no hosts or vulnerabilities are usually caused by inaccessible or offline targets, a firewall blocking the scan, incorrect or missing credentials, or a corrupt plugin database. Troubleshooting to identify these issues, as well as rebuilding the plugin database, is demonstrated using Nessus Professional version 8.8.2.
