Top Dem Prods CBP Officials For Answers After Data Breach

Law360 (September 16, 2019, 10:08 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee's top Democrat on Monday pressed U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials for answers on how they ensure their subcontractors' data security, in the wake of a recent breach that exposed images of up to 100,000 travelers.

In a letter addressed to acting agency head Matt Morgan, Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., pushed for details on how border protection officials are attempting to avoid cyberattacks like an episode announced in June in which a subcontractor exposed a database of traveler photos after improperly transferring copies of the images to its own network.
