ATLANTA (August 1, 2022) – The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and Global Atlanta have formed a strategic alliance to collaborate on strategies that advance the innovation economy – both locally and globally.

Both organizations have an outstanding track record of helping to drive technology innovation and international business and trade, further positioning Atlanta and Georgia as an epicenter for economic growth and sustainability.

Through TAG’s International Business Society, collaboration will take place on Global Atlanta event promotions, participation, support and content. Likewise, Global Atlanta will partner with TAG on all its signature events and International Society events. The overall goal is to increase participation, membership, engagement and visibility within the local and international business community.

“Georgia is a hub for innovation and attracts companies that have a global reach and impact,” said Larry K. Williams, President & CEO of TAG. “We are proud to partner with Global Atlanta who helps to position Georgia on the International stage.”

Both organizations also will share news, content, networking and business opportunities via their respective marketing/communications channels. Each also will collaborate on thought leadership and potential speaker opportunities.

“Technology has always been a strong suit for Atlanta and Georgia,” said Trevor Williams, Managing Editor of Global Atlanta. “And in recent years, it has emerged as a key undercurrent driving the city and state’s international growth — largely thanks to the work of organizations like TAG in building out the ecosystem.”

Atlanta’s reinforcing tech sectors like fintech, cybersecurity and health IT are coalescing to write a new chapter of the city’s growth story that has captivated consulates and binational chambers in Atlanta, as well as investment and trade agencies visiting from abroad. These existing links help foster future connections through the power of globally informed and locally engaged companies.

About Global Atlanta

Global Atlanta has reported on Atlanta’s links with the global economy since 1991, tracking the city’s rise as an international business hub and using the power of local, relational reporting to help readers discover cross-border opportunities and navigate the world’s complexities.

A digital-only news service, Global Atlanta is launching a Tech Channel and monthly newsletter to focus on the constant parade of foreign technology companies using the city as their entree into the U.S. market as well as the ongoing “export” of Georgia innovation, software and tech services. The 30-year-old publication will supplement its own tech reporting through a content partnership with Hypepotamus, the South’s source of news on startups and innovation. Deepening this focus is particularly vital now, as technology takes a prime place at the nexus of international trade and national security during a new phase of globalization.
