Position Description:
An employee in this class performs a variety of clerical and administrative support duties. Work generally includes providing support to the Information Technology Director and department staff. Job requirements include; being the primary point of contact for the department, assisting department clients on the phone or in person, creating help desk tickets, managing inventory, working with vendors, preparing invoices and work orders for approval. Work requires self-initiative in activities. General knowledge of the County, assigned department, and related functions are needed. Sound judgment is required in performing the tasks. Work is done independently under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Director and is evaluated through observation, conferences, and the quality and effectiveness of work completed.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary contact for the department by answering the phone, greeting the public, and other County staff.
• Answers questions relating to the department and fields calls to the appropriate contact.
• Receives and greets visitors, gives information, and may handle requests independently.
• Provides basic IT help desk support.
• Generates help desk tickets and enters into help desk system.
• Maintains equipment inventory and enters into the inventory system.
• Catalogs receiving orders and incoming equipment.
• Obtains quotes, from vendors when needed.
• Places supply orders for the department.
• Processes requisitions, check requests, and invoices for payment.
• Maintains office records.





Qualifications:
• Completion of high school or equivalent and one year of secretarial or clerical/administrative/office experience; or
• Completion of an Associate’s Degree in office administration, business administration program or Information Technology degree; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
