SEC Charges Suspected Hackers, Traders Involved With Database Hack

According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, US authorities charged a suspected Ukrainian computer hacker and several traders with involvement in a cheme to trade on market-moving corporate earnings news stolen from a US Securities and Exchange Commission database. Reuters reports that the charges against the 10 defendants relate to a suspected 2016 hacking into Edgar, the SEC's corporate filing system that led to 4.14 million dollars of illegal trading profit.
