Ryan Adams/Walrus Audio: DEFCON 4

It's not often we see a collaboration between a major artist and a great pedal company. The DEFCON 4 brings together Ryan Adams and the boys and gals from Oklahoma, Walrus Audio. The DEFCON 4 is a 3-band booster - Low, Mid (fully parametric) and High - with the added bonus of a 10db MOSFET boost as well. Each of the bands can be turned on/off and they're easy to operate with a central 'flat' setting and 2 notches either way for cut or boost. If you wish to tailor the MID boost you can do so with the inner trimpots - frequency and Q. The DEFCON is voiced really well in my opinion. It also looks super snazzy and has a myriad of potential applications ranging from light to heavy tone sculpting through to standardising volume/tones with different guitars, say, a Strat and Les Paul. I have no doubt that many will buy this pedal just because it looks the business but I feel that its practical uses are just as great as its looks. Rock on, Ryan Adams and Walrus Audio!
