Qualys – Navigating Infosecurity’s Role in GDPR Compliance – Infosecurity Europe 2017

iSpeech

The EU General Data Protection Regulation will come into force in May 2018. IT security professionals will have less than twelve months to gain awareness of the concrete requirements that GDPR puts in place and set out their plans for keeping compliant. This means carrying out audits, creating policies and reporting over time. How can infosecurity teams make use of existing time, budget and resources to effectively manage their organisations to GDPR compliance?

In a panel session moderated by Infosecurity Contributing Editor Dan Raywood, Rowenna Fielding, Data Protection Lead, Protecture & Former Information Governance Officer in the third sector, Jonathan Armstrong, Partner at Cordery, and Darron Gibbard, Chief Technology Security Officer at Qualys, discuss the major compliance milestones and methods required for GDPR.

Learning Outcomes:

1. What are the biggest GDPR compliance issues facing security professionals?
2. How well prepared are security teams for gap analysis?
3. What steps must teams undertake to draft policies and prepare compliance assurance, and how long will these take to be completed?
4. How can IT teams build their business case for GDPR compliance resources, and secure additional budget if this is not currently in the plan?
5. Who else within the business may already be working on compliance planning, and how should IT teams lead this collaboration
