A Queensland policeman accused of computer hacking has been stood down from official duties and summoned to appear in court.

The Queensland Police Service is investigating the 50-year-old constable from Brisbane after allegations he accessed confidential information without authorisation, police said on Tuesday.

He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for a computer hacking and misuse charge.

In an unrelated case, a second policeman accused of drink driving has been stood down from official duties at the operations support command.

The 52-year-old sergeant has been assigned to non-operational duties while he is investigated for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol when off duty.

He's been summoned to appear in the same court on June 7 on a drink driving charge.
