Qatar takes part in GCC Cybersecurity Ministerial Committee meeting

Riyadh: The State of Qatar participated yesterday in the first meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Cybersecurity at the headquarters of the GCC General Secretariat, in the presence of the GCC Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf.

The delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by HE President of the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Maliki.
During the meeting, many topics related to the common aspects of cooperation between the GCC countries in the field of cybersecurity were discussed, which include the development of common frameworks, policies and procedures to address cyber threats, harmonizing efforts between the GCC countries in various sectors, raising the level of international cooperation with relevant countries and organizations, enhancing and growing the cybersecurity industry in the GCC countries, in addition to exchanging knowledge, experiences, and studies related to cybersecurity, and creating secure cyberspace to protect the GCC countries from cyber threats.





The first GCC cybersecurity exercise was also launched, which aims to enhance communication and information sharing between the GCC countries, exchange experiences among national cadres specialized in cybersecurity, raise the level of cyber readiness to face cyber threats and risks, in addition to finding innovative solutions to face cyber challenges and threats.
