OPPO swamps Australian market with 5G phones for all pockets
Chinese smartphone maker OPPO has put three new 5G models on sale from Tuesday, one of which was announced in March. The company's Find X2 series launched its premium model, the Find X2 Pro ($1599) at that time, and has added the Find X2 Neo ($999) and the Find X2 Lite ($749).
[The last-named is competitively priced against its own stablemate, the realme X50 Pro 5G, which is yet to launch locally. Based on US dollar prices, it is expected to sell for about $810.]
In one stroke, thus, the company has ramped up the number of 5G smartphones available to Australian consumers, with four coming from its ranks; the OPPO Reno 5G 10x Zoom was released last year. An LG model and two Samsung models make up the remainder and it looks like the market is slowly getting into gear to take advantage of the new technology.

The Neo and Lite have Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processors and are thus both 5G future-proof. The Pro has a 865 5G CPU. All three have AMOLED displays, ranging from 6.7" (Pro) and 6.5" (Neo) to 6.4" (Lite).
There is no extension storage slot nor a second SIM; if truth be told, there is no need for such features given the riches on display. The Pro has 512GB storage and 12GB memory, the Neo has 256GB of storage and 12GB memory while the Lite has 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. The comparison of the three can be seen in the chart below.

The Pro has a 4260mAh and a 120Hz screen refresh rate while the other two models have 4025mAh batteries. The Neo has a 90Hz screen refresh rate and the Lite the bog-standard 60Hz refresh rate.
