Abstract:
Android has firmly established it's place as a contender in the smartphone market in recent years, and the number of applications available for the operating system has increased drastically. Our phones live in our pockets and contain vast amounts of information about ourselves, as we rely on them for everything from communication, to purchases and banking. The security of these applications is obviously imperative, yet the technology and the security of such is widely misunderstood. This talk will explore the security implications of developing android applications, and a walkthrough of a methodology used by security consultants to identify vulnerabilities. (featuring Mercury 2.0)
