New SANS Cyber Security Skills Test And Roadshow Aim To Highlight Training Needs.

text to speech

SANS Institute has launched a new campaign in EMEA to encourage people to test their cyber security knowledge and to help highlight the cyber security skills gap.

Starting with a short, fun testcovering topics such as encryption, two-factor authentication, hashing, penetration testing and incident response, the Level Up websiteaims to attract potential new cyber security professionals into the industry. The website also aims to give existing industry professionals an idea of what skills they should look to develop next and why it’s so important to keep your skills up to date.

The Level Up website also features videos and case studies of some of SANS’ instructors and students, talking about how they got into cyber security as a career, why it’s so important and how they have developed their careers.

Free roadshow

In addition, there is the chance to attend a free roadshow, initially in four major European cities, to get a taste of a SANS event, and to hear SANS instructors talking about what it takes to get into cyber security and what makes a great digital forensicator, pentester or cyber defender.

The first UK roadshow is being held at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, London, at 6.30pm on 4 June. At the event, SANS Fellow Stephen Sims will discuss how to make it in cybersecurity and what he thinks makes a great Pentester.

Interested parties should register on the website herebut if you’re a journalist and would like to attend, please also let us know you’re coming (email sleatherbarrow@sans.org) and if you’d be interested in a separate briefing afterwards with one of the instructors.
