New Lure Modules and evolutions added to Pokémon Go

TTS

A new update featuring Sinnoh region Pokémon has arrived in Pokémon Go, adding Cherubi, Gible, Hippopotas, Burmy, and all of the evolved forms of those ‘mons, including Garchomp.

With these new Pokémon added to the wild and in eggs, the ground-type move Earth Power has also been added to the game for Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Aerodactyl, Camerupt, Claydol, and unspecified Sinnoh region Pokémon.

The news post also notes that special Lure Modules will be added to the game. Glacial Lure Modules will bring water- and ice-types to Pokéstops, Mossy Lure Modules will bring bug-, grass-, and poison-types, and Magnetic Lure Modules will pull in electric-, steel-, and rock-type Pokémon.

These Lure Modules will also allow players to evolve their Pokémon into Glaceon, Leafeon, Probopass, and Magnezone. If a special Lure Module is placed, players will be able to evolve their Pokémon after spinning the stop. Glaceon will need the Glacial Lure Module, Leafeon will need the Mossy Lure Module, and Probopass and Magnezone will need the Magnetic Lure Module.

These lures are obtainable through the coin shop, but will also be rewards for completing new Special Research tasks coming later this year. Consider holding off evolving any of the special Pokémon that need the lures. Past Special Research has involved evolving Pokémon like Espeon, Umbreon, and Pokémon that use specific items, and it’s very likely that the next line of tasks will do the same.
