As of November 1, 2018, organizations across Canada subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) will be required to provide notice of certain privacy breaches. The Canadian chair of our technology and outsourcing practice team, partner Robert Percival, explains the similarities and differences between the new Canadian requirements and the European Union’s far-reaching General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force in May, 2018.
