Mortal Kombat 11’s new PC update available; adds 60 fps options for cinematics, menus and The Krypt along with many stability fixes

Mortal Kombat 11 certainly had a smoother launch on PC than some other NetherRealm Studios or Warner Bros. games in recent years, but players have been waiting in some cases for better compatibility features to fix crashes and platform specific additions — though many of them seem to have now arrived.

The May update for Mortal Kombat 11 on PC is now available to download thanks to the porting studio over at QLOC that adds 60 frames per second options to essentially the entire game, crash fixes and online connectivity improvements.

PC players will now be able to turn on the 60 fps option in MK11's menus along with cinematics like intros, Krushing Blows, Fatal Blows and more. The Krypt can also now be played in 60 fps via separate options though they only recommend this for high end users.

Some players have faced a hard time getting to get the game to actually launch at all in some cases or face crashes due to certain controller drivers, but those have also reportedly been improved with the latest update while more fixes are still incoming.

Frequent online disconnections from matches have also been reported on the PC version which QLOC has apparently added an adjustment for that should help resolve the problem.

Prior to this patch, players would need to install an unofficial mod to access 60 fps outside of the base gameplay though it should be safe to toss those out now.

You can find the full patch notes for Mortal Kombat 11 on PC below along with the previous updates for May here.

• 60 FPS mode – In PC Features, we have introduced the option to turn on 60 FPS in Menus and during Cinematics (Intros/Victories, Krushing Blows, Fatal Blows, etc) and in Krypt separately. We have set this default to ON for Menus however you have to switch the option to ON for the Krypt, as is only recommended on high end configurations.

• Missing reflections – We have introduced the option to turn on/off reflections.

• Crash fixes for users who have crash on launch issues. We are working on other similar issues, so we will keep updating the game with fixes for users who report their crashes to us. - issues caused by outdated Radeon drivers should no longer occur - game crashing on launch/during gameplay cause by drivers for unusual controllers, should no longer occur - game not launching, issue cause by a fault library file, should no longer occur

• Players frequent disconnects –adjustment that should resolve the issue of frequent disconnects for some users

• Fix to Frost Whirring Drill graphical glitch when TAA is disabled

• Localization updates

• Minor fixes for mouse and controller inputs

We are also taking measures that target potential cheaters and cheat engines. Also, as always, please make sure you download and install the latest graphics drivers.
