Man, 40, accused of hacking teenager to death – Daily Trust
An Ebute Meta Magistrate Court in Lagos on Wednesday ordered the remand of a 40-year-old man, Kehinde Bioyo, for allegedly hacking a teenager to death.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Chief Magistrate O. O. Olatunji, in his ruling, ordered that Bioyo be remanded in Ikoyi Prison pending legal advice from the state’s Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
He, thereafter, adjourned the matter to June 17.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Oladele Adebayo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 24, at Kadara Street, Ebute Meta, Lagos.
He alleged that the defendant used a matchete to hack the teenager, Basit Badmus (18), to death.
The offence, he said, contravened Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which stipulates death sentence for offenders.
