On Thursday 16th March 2017, Rachel Cooper OBE, Non-Executive Director - Future Cities Catapult spoke at Smart IoT London.
What does it mean to live in a SMART IoT city? How do we create the ecosystems and investment to support the smart IoT city? How we design the systems for people? This presentation will discuss these issues by drawing on the experience of the Future Cities Catapult and projects such as; SynchroniCity one of the 5 Large Scale IoT Pilots funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020, a project that is looking at creating rich IoT ecosystems to promote urban innovation, exploring replicability/scaling-up potential of solutions; Plug & Play that is exploring the potential for evolving city test beds. And also drawing on the research of PETRAS’ an UK Government funded IOT hub looking at Privacy, Ethics, Trust, Reliability and Security of the IoT. By developing test-beds and understanding how people adopt and adapt to IoT we are able to share the benefits and overcome the challenges, designing our future Smart IoT cities for everyone’s benefit.
