Latino Grants Available in the United States

There is wide variety of grants available in different walks of life and for different purpose. In 2010 there are many grants made available for the Latino communities. The Washington State-based Latino Community Fund is a charitable organization.

It consists of a group of Latino Philanthropists who are committed to stamp out Latin stereotypes and help to improve and enhance Hispanic Communities throughout the country. This foundation generally welcomes people from all backgrounds.

It focuses mainly at breaking down the prejudices and the stereotypes that are experienced by Hispanics and are given back to their Latino counterpart. The Latino Community Fund grant is given away every year to various community centers, workshop programs and various others that are Hispanic based organizations and causes.

The Latino Endowment Fund is one generous grant-making organization. It was founded by the Hartford Foundation of Public Giving. The Latino Endowment Fund was formed by a group of community leaders. Their aim in creating it was an effort to better the future of Latino citizens, and also to improve the life of the people in Hartford and Connecticut area.





From non profitable organizations to some of the major private companies offer so called niche grants. It requires students to demonstrate their financial need as well as match many of the parameters that are illustrated by them. These parameters may include a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher or a particular planned field of study. The programs are highly competitive.

The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) awards $ 150,000 per year for Hispanic American students who have a minimum score of 3.0 GPA and who wish to pursue major in accounting, finance, information technology or some related field. This organization gives away individual grants that range from $ 1,250-10,000 per student per year.125

The Google Scholarship Fund awards give $ 10,000 to twenty individuals who wish to pursue computer science or engineering as their subject. The grantees minimum GPA score must be 3.5 and they must be outstanding students. These Latino grants help the ethnic group in their fight for a standard living.
