‘Joker’ Spurs Extensive Security Precautions

The Los Angeles Police Department has announced increased security surrounding the opening of the movie "Joker".
CNN reports that both the US Army and the Los Angeles Police Department will be on alert.
One LA-based theater chain has taken the extra precaution of banning all costumes - during the screening.
The dark-themed film about the rise of Batman's nemesis has invoked memories of a mass shooting in 2012.
